Chronology of cameras Pentacon Gmbh
VEB Pentacon disappeared in 1990, together with the factory in Dresden. The Pentacon brand (Pentacon Gmbh) was reborn from 1997, focusing on advanced technologies. Cameras were sold under the Praktica brand with the support of the Schneider optical group, of which Pentacon Gmbh is a part. It is difficult to say whether these are original fabrications or affixing the brand to Asian fabrications. Some models sometimes carry the historic Pentacon logo, with the word Germany added, these are cameras sold (or manufactured?) by Pentacon Gmbh.
Since 2015, the brand has been owned by an English group, which evokes the heritage of the prestigious past, even in the absence of the slightest filiation. Cameras manufactured by this owner are digital.

The series of Praktica Sport appeared in 1991 (either less than two years after the fall of the Berlin Wall) whereas the company Praktica (East Germany) had filed for bankruptcy. It comprised autofocus cameras about in their time, like the Sport Nova, and of the very basic cameras like this Sport QT One. All have a very Asian aspect. Manufacture does not have thus anything any more to see with Dresden.
This camera also exists in blue.
